That afternoon, he went to his friend's house to play. His friend's name is Matthew. Matthew had a shiny new toy truck. Jonathan thought how fun it would be to play with it! So, Jonathan grabbed it and began to play with it. Matthew got mad and hit Jonathan. Matthew was so upset he told Jonathan to go home. So Jonathan ran out the door, shouting, "You're not my friend anymore!"

On the way home Jonathan felt really bad and started crying. He felt so bad that he wished he had never woke up that day! He wished he could just start the whole day over again.

Jonathan called Matthew later that evening on the phone. He said he was sorry, and asked Matthew to forgive him. Matthew said he was sorry too. So they made up and were friends again. They also both prayed and asked God to forgive them too; and of course, God did. The next day was a much better day for Jonathan. He went over to Matthew's house again, and Matthew shared his truck with Jonathan this time.

Did you ever have a really bad day like that? A day where people were mean to you. Maybe some kids made fun of you. Or maybe you did something really bad -- then your mom and dad got mad at you. Then you felt guilty and sad. Maybe you even started to cry. Its on days like those that you wish you could just forget the whole day! You just want to pretend like it never happened. You just want a second chance to wake up again and start the whole day all over.

Well, did you know, that, in a way, you really can start over? In fact, you can start your whole life over. You see...God loves you so much, that he made a way for you to start over. When you pray to God and tell Him that you are sorry for the wrong things that you did, he will forgive you. If you are really sorry, just tell him that you are sorry. If you ask him to forgive you, God is so kind that he will forgive you! -- no matter what you did wrong! And, do you know what else? He will even forget that you ever did it! You see, he loves you so much that he gives you a second chance when you ask Him to.

So don't feel like you have to do everything perfect. Even when we try our best, everybody blows it sometimes. But, when you do blow it, just know that God is there, waiting to hear your prayer. Just say the simple the words, "Dear God, I did something wrong. I am sorry I did it. Will you forgive me?" That is all you have to do! Then, he will make everything right with Him and forget that you ever did it! You will have a fresh start to do the right thing the next time. And, that is something to smile about, because we all need a second chance sometimes!
