Let Jesus Be Your Shepherd! Follow-up for devotion: Jesus is My Shepherd

Well, Kids, did you like that story about my shepherd? Me too. Did you know that you can have a shepherd too? Jesus is your shepherd if you know him and follow him. We know this is true because Jesus tells us that in the Bible. (Read John 10:14, 27) Jesus is like the good shepherd because he knows us by name. He cares for us and loves us. He protects us and watches over us. And, when we get hurt he can heal us. He loves us so much that he gave his life for us. He died so that we can live. That means that we can live even after we die. That's right. He promised. And, when Jesus promises something, we know it is true. (Read John 10:28). Our bodies might die some day. But, if we are a follower of Jesus, he gives us life again, and we will live with him forever in Heaven! Isn't that the best promise ever! There's nothing better than that! Won't you let Jesus be your Good Shepherd and decide to follow him? When you believe in Jesus, and that he died on the cross to pay for your sins, and ask for forgiveness for all the bad things that you have done, turn from the bad things you used to do, and decide to follow him from now on, He comes to live in your heart. He lets you become his child. And, he helps you and guides you, just like the Good Shepherd guides his sheep on the right path. He loves you and protects you, and will take you to heaven with him when you die. Then you can live with him forever in heaven, along with all of his other followers! You can have lasting joy and peace because you know that, no matter what happens, Jesus will keep his promises. |

| If you want to be a follower of Jesus, you can say this simple prayer: "Dear Jesus, I believe in you. I know you are God's Son. I know I have done many wrong things that you call sin, and I am sorry for the wrong things I have done. I know that you died on the cross to pay for all the bad things that I do. You did this because you love me so much. Thank you for paying for my sin. Please forgive me today and come live in my heart. I want to follow you for the rest of my life, starting today. I thank you now that I am your "sheep" (your child) and you are my Shepherd. Guide me and lead me on your path always. Thank you for saving me. I love you, Jesus! In Jesus' name, Amen! | |
