Valentine Hunt Game: |
Pin the Heart on the Bear game |
|
Prepare for the game: Print a few pages of Colored Hearts or Print a few pages of the White Hearts on colored heavyweight paper (or let the children color the white pages) Cut the hearts apart (or just cut in strips to cut around the hearts in square-shapes). Write on the backs of the hearts what the child will win if he finds that heart. (small toys, candy, stickers, etc.) Have the prizes on hand to exchange for the hearts when the children turn in their hearts at the end of the game. Have extra prizes on hand for those who didn't find any hearts. ________________________________________ How To Play: Hide all the hearts in the playground or yard, (or room if you don't live in warm weather in February). If a child is not finding any, "help" him, giving hints of where to look. When all of hearts are found, tell the kids the game is over. They can exchange their hearts for the prize that it says on the back. Suggest that they share their prizes with those who didn't find many hearts, if they found a lot of hearts(depending on their ages...will work better with older kids).

Prepare for the game: Print the Heart on The Bear Game Page . Color with markers or crayons. Get a corkboard (with a hanger on the back) that is bigger than the game, some thumbtacks and a bandana (or hair band) for a blindfold. Cut hearts out of construction paper about the size of the heart on the game page. Have Valentine prizes on hand (toys, candy, stickers, etc.) Hang the corkboard with the picture of the bear on it at the children's eye level in the classroom. __________________________________ How To Play the Game:
Have the children form a line. Let the children take turns. Place a heart with a thumbtack pointed outward in it in the child's hand. Blind fold the child. Turn him around a couple of times to get him a little disoriented. Have him try to pin the heart on top of the heart that the bear is holding. Give prizes for the ones who get is somewhere on the heart in the picture. Also award prizes for those who get it close, or those who at least make it on the bear. Decide ahead of time, what each attempt will be rewarded. Have extra prizes on hand for those who didn't get any prizes. |
