This fun interactive Sunday School Lesson for preschool children is based on the Bible story, The Good Samaritan. Included are printable pictures to make easy bible character stick puppets. Children participate in telling the story by placing "stickers" on the story pages during story time and Circle Talk Time. When children participate with the stickers, it helps the lesson concepts "stick" as well. After the teacher tells the story, there are empathy-building exercises during Circle Talk Time. The class discusses real-life situations. They pretend they are the character in the story to get a feel for how they could show love to that person. Key concepts include: the Golden Rule: (Do unto others as you would have them do unto you); Jesus wants us to love everyone; and We can ask ourselves, "How would I want someone to act towards me?" Scriptures used as reference for this lesson include: Luke 10:25 - 37; Matthew 7:12; 1 John 3:17; Numbers 22:32-34; Romans 12:9-13. Romans 12:15; 1 Corinthians 13:4-7; 1 John 4:11; John 13:34; Matthew 25: 31 - 46. |
