Creation Crafts, coloring pages and printable story pictures for Sunday School Lesson 1:
This fun lesson begins with a puzzle of things in creation. The teacher takes away each piece to show children at the beginning there was nothing. The focus is on the Character of God, summed up in the key concepts: God is the alpha and omega (A - Z), the beginning and the end. God is everlasting. His love is everlasting too! Light was the first thing that God made. The printable illustrations show that there was only darkness at the beginning, but God was there also. Then God made the light. We use an object lesson with a Greek alphabet to illustrate the point of God being the alpha and omega, which is like our A and Z, the first and last letters, of the Greek alphabet. Children will get the concepts when they can see and touch the letters themselves and see the beginning and end of the accordian booklet. There are also pictures to illustrate God's everlasting love. During Circle Talk Time, the class discusses how God made day and night when he made the light; and things we do in the day and things we do at night; and again emphasize God's everlasting love. Activities for this lesson include: a snack idea, a song with actions, a game and another activity, age-appropriate for preschool - kindergarten aged children. The crafts include an easy creation puzzle kids make themselves, a Greek alphabet booklet with a few pictures, and a glow-in-the-dark picture of light.

However, I think some of the videos would be too scary for young children (ex., fangtooth and Frogfish). Frogfish, barreleyes videos are quite interesting. Be sure also to show children the unique fish like the stonefish, cowfish, blobfish, stingray, sawfish, alligator gar. Check out the cute smiling porcupine puffer fish photos, and the Red Lipped Batfish - You can see why God gave it lipstick. : )
